THE AREA
Location wise this is one of the best areas to explore Amsterdam and beyond.
Literally, most tourist attractions are just around the corner, within walking distance!
The area named “The Golden Reaal” is right in the old centre 200 meters south-west from
the Central Station. Our quiet street Droogbak connects 2 major canals, the Singel and the Prinsengracht. Parallel with the Droogbak is the longest shopping street of the
Netherlands. A section of this street is named Haarlemmerstraat/dijk, a former sea dike, but now you find good restaurants, specialty- and local shops, coffeeshops, cafe's, gallaries, hair saloons, laundromats, a famous art-deco cinema and
a lot more. The Brouwersgracht one of the most beautiful canals connecting the four
main canals is just one street behind it.
The Central station for all kind of public transportation is a leisurely 3-4 minute walk. It will only take you
20 minutes from Schiphol Airport by train, or car.
